Lots of times digital pictures can get really big. Here's an easy way to control an image's size while reducing byte size:
Go to Microsoft Powerpoint. Insert the picture from its file. Go to Format Picture by either right clicking on the picture or using the Picture Toolbar. Click on the Size tab. Change either the height or width (relations will remain the same). I would say for web viewing, use a width of 5.5" for a horizontal picture and 4" for vertical one. Powerpoint give you the actual size, while Internet Explorer is not always as accurrate. Copy the picture
Open up Paint. Paste the picture (will probably have to enlarge bitmap). Do a Save As and call picture whatever want. Also change the file to a .jpg or whatever type of file you want it to be.
